Match Me: Asian creative writing student from CA, 3.9 UW, band kid, scattered ECs (I have no idea what I'm doing)

Are these schools that you would happily send in your enrollment deposit and then attend for 4 years? If not, you need to find schools that will meet this criteria, as your safety schools are the most important ones on your college list.

The first school I’m going to suggest is Western Washington. It has one of the biggest creative writing programs in the country, it’s great for marine sciences and environmental studies, and there’s lots of nature around. But Bellingham is definitely a populated area, so nothing rural here. And as an additional bonus, even though you don’t have any cost constraints, WWU is a WUE school which means it will be quite affordable for your family (which could mean money spent on other things, like grad school, a house down payment, etc). Though there’s no marching band, it does have a large pep band.

I’ll keep on thinking about other possibilities for you.
