Finances are secondary to great education

Willing to study in America or abroad

Match me! What colleges should I look at? Need a playground for my brain.

That’s not a fair statement - and a great education can be had most anywhere, if you want it. Don’t conflate great education with rank.

You’ve literally not provided any direction - so I can recommend every school in America and abroad where your stats will work.

Size? Environment - rural, suburban, urban? Weather? Do you care about sports, greek life, etc? Do you want to be abroad?

If I told you colleges will cost $400,000 - can your family afford that? If so, are they willing to - when you can go for 1/4 of that?

You can’t just say - tell me some - ok, PSU, Pitt, Millersville!!

If you haven’t read it already, look into After World (Urbanski), which is narrated by a benevolent AI.

You mean that your parents are able and willing to pay up to about $380k without parent loans for your college?

Start with Pitt and/or Penn State. Apply early.

Give us more details about preferences. Any particular area of physics?

I second starting with Pitt and Penn State, including their Honors Colleges.
Run the NPC on Bryn Mawr. Is it affordable?
What about Lafayette, Lehigh, Bucknell, would these be affordable?

Regarding Bryn Mawr, please note that the OP is male.

With your current SAT score, Pitt is a match (not safety) because your score in its middle 50th percentile for CS. Definitely apply early (August or September). The score is below the 25th percentile for Pitt’s honors college, but it’s still worth a shot and the additional essays don’t need to be submitted until December 1.

I’m guessing that your score will make Penn State a low reach. You do not have to apply crazy early there because the EA deadline (November 1) gives you the earliest response. The Shreyer Honors application is a lot – a lot more than Pitt’s – so if you decide to go that route make sure that you are allowing yourself enough time for that application.

As others have said, there are many schools all over the world where you would be able to study. Can you provide us with more information on what kind of school, location, etc., you might like.

 can’t believe I did that…
@PhantomPhoton : run the NPC on Haverford or Swarthmore instead of Bryn Mawr. These 2 are VERY different from Lehigh or Bucknell in vibe but they all meet need and they all meet need differently.

A strong safety for physics would be Lawrence WI.

Note for PSU that the SRAR takes a while to upload and be accepted and your application won’t be considered complete till it has been accepted so the latest you can submit for Priority deadline is October 15. Better submit everything (but Schreyer) August 1.
