Regional ice hockey awards (2) (all team-based, 1 championship, 1 based on academics)
National ice hockey awards (3) (all team-based, top 30 teams in us)
(womens ice hockey is not very competitive so these awards are not impressive the way a top 30 in volleyball or a larger sport would be, i also have no individual recognition)
PVSA (3) (1 bronze, 1 gold, 1 gold projected)

no exact numbers or details for privacy

  • healthcare service project (from a larger org) w/ leadership (6 hrs/week, 3 years) (minimal impact in terms of what the service was (just education & advocacy) but reached a few thousand people)
  • other volunteer thing (not very related to major) (6 hrs/week, 4 years) (also minimal impact (education & advocacy), taught a few hundred kids in it)
  • ice hockey captain (for 1 season) (10 hrs/week, 4 years, im not very good so not recruited, all my awards are due to my club team being good and just being on the roster tbh :sob:)

  • peer tutor in science (4 hrs/ week, 2 years)

Schools
I’m interested in small & mid size schools but not sure where i can realistically apply to

Current List:

Safety:
UC merced, riverside (i’m doing all the UCs) + guaranteed to merced/riverside because of top 9% CA resident

Target:
St. Olaf
UC Davis, Santa Cruz

Reach:
Case Western
Franklin & Marshall
The remaining UCs
Smith

I would like to get feedback on what is on my list so far and what I can add.

Also, if any of these are good for ED → Currently I’m considering Case Western or F&M since they are more realistic for acceptance for me than Smith.

Thank you in advance!

I think you will get in everywhere on your list. Want to reach a little higher? Also, if you can go the recruited athlete route for women’s ice hockey, you might get in to any school as a recruited athlete, because, as you pointed out, women’s ice hockey isn’t that competitive.

You’d also be a valuable violinist at any school that doesn’t have a conservatory, but has an orchestra.

You are a very strong student and will be a competitive applicant anywhere. You have the stats to apply to any school that interests you. Before doing that, you need to find out what your budget is and run the NPC at any school that you are considering so you can see if it would be within budget. I can’t chance you for the UCs as they are unpredictable. You should review the SCOIR/Naviance for your school and see how students with your stats typically fare (with the understanding that there are no guarantees). I don’t think Franklin & Marshall is a reach for you - it is more like a Target. The same goes for Case Western (although you need to show a lot of interest - they are afraid that students with your stats are using them as a safety). There are lots of small/mid-size schools out there - what are you looking for. If you give us some direction we can make some suggestions.
