Match Me: SC resident, 3.3 UW GPA, psychology major, good ECs

Reed seems like an outlier here. It’s very far from home and quite reachy for you, and very academically/intellectually intense, whereas you seem to want a more practical program that will get you directly into counseling. Reed just doesn’t seem to fit the pattern, IMO.

There are plenty of schools you can get into, but I’m unclear about your budget and your financial aid eligibility; therefore, I can’t tell which schools would be affordable for you. It’s not a match if you can’t pay for it.

One that comes to mind is McDaniel in Maryland. They’re fairly generous with aid. Nice campus in a small town 30 miles outside Baltimore. They have accelerated BA/MS programs for both Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling. They also have Army ROTC if that’s of interest.

Clark in Worcester, MA is particularly known for psychology, and they’re often quite generous with aid too. They’ve been struggling a bit financially, but psych has always been their crown jewel so there’s no way that’s getting cut. In addition to being in a small city, it’s less than an hour on commuter rail to get into Boston.

If you like the whole military ambience, you could consider The Citadel - they do give financial aid to in-state students, but I don’t know whether you’d get enough aid or not. And they do have a clinical counseling program. I know they’re relatively expensive for a state school but I don’t know whether aid would mitigate that. CofC seems like a good option as well.
