You can apply about anywhere with this basic profile.
What do you want for college - college town or city? Sports to watch or sports to participate in? Private or public, religious (which one and how essential to the college 's identity.)
What’s your budget? What have your parents said about your efc?
I am looking at private colleges. City or town and not religiously affiliated.my parents have said they would send me and pay for me just about anywhere. Sports are not that important to my choice
NYU
You can try Cornell, but it’s a long shot for everyone. Look carefully at their many programs. Some programs you apply directly into – like the majors at CALS. There are others
RPI
RIT
URochester probably
Maybe Vassar
Maybe Hamilton
Colgate
Union
Syracuse
If you mean the tri-state area, you may want to look at Connecitcut College
Wells
Skidmore
There are probably others
Here’s a list of all of the schools–

Ask your parents for a specific amount or a range. Often when parents answer that, they don’t have the actual numbers and you don’t want to end up in March with 6 unaffordable acceptances, as happens to hundreds and hundreds of kids each year.
RUN THE NPC’s
Vassar, Hamilton, and Skidmore could be good matches.
Add Denison, Dickinson, Davidson (order of selectivity), Colby or Bates, perhaps even Middlebury, Emory, Vanderbilt depending on what you’re looking for.
Thank you both so much for the help! Do my stats make cooper union a safety or match school by the way? I want to have a good balance on my list
Cooper Union must be treated as a match.
Also, beware of the GPA/score combo: if a college has a 20% acceptance rate, regardless of stats, it must be considered a reach.
Academic interests?
applied mathematics or chemical engineering
Columbia, Cornell, RPI and URochester would be excellent for your interests. NYU could be good as well. In terms of your admissibility, you would be likely to get into the majority of these schools.
Union would be another school worth consideration.
my ACT essay was only a 9 :(. Is that going to be a red flag for schools like Cornell or Columbia?
