Matching merit scholarships?

Is it possible to match an honors program merit scholarship at another school that is sort of equivalent?

All you can do is ask. Many schools have specific goals/score requirements for merit money. You have to look carefully to see what the requirements are. If your child does not meet the criteria for the max scholarship don’t expect school A to give you the max scholarship because school B did.

Are you asking Wellesley to match Northeastern? Schools may offer more, but I don’t think they’ll cover a $30k/year gap. How much can your parents pay per year for you and your twin? Will the honors college be affordable if Wellesley won’t budge?

They have to be peer schools…not “sort of equivalent”.

@austinmshauri

Wellesley doesn’t give any merit scholarships. NEU gives very few.

If @bubblepop12444 is hoping to match merit awards, it’s probably between UCI and NEU.

I’m going to be very honest. I do NOT think any of these schools are peer schools to the others.

Wellesley isn’t going to match anything. The school gives need based aid only.

NEU isn’t going to match UCI.

UCI isn’t going to match NEU…and you didntnget anything at Wellesley,

Can your family afford ANY of these schools?

while Northeastern does give merit aid, Wellesley only gives need based financial aid. Nothing to compare or appeal. they are not considered Peer schools.

UCI is a public university and NEU is private. Highly unlikely if they will match offers.
