"Matching" SAT score

I’ve seen posts saying that you need to have an SAT score that “matches” your GPA. Is this true? I have a 3.6 GPA, but a 2350 SAT. Is this honestly a cause for alarm?

Well, it’s not like it would be better if your SAT score were lower, if that’s what you mean.
3.6 is below average for a lot of schools and might hurt you (depending on your class rank and stuff).

It is more of an issue when there is a major gap between ones GPA and SAT which often implies a lazy student or grade inflation. For example a 2300 and a 2.5 or a 4.0 and a 1100 would be an issue. Your GPA is not so low that I anticipate that your SAT/GPA combo will be an issue.

Yeah, better for one to be high and the other low than both low, unless you have a consistent story like being narcoleptic and not receiving accommodations either in your classes or on a standardized test.

There tends to be a correlation between SAT and GPA. Of course grade inflation and deflation occurs and must be discounted.
