Math 10

I’ve only had a year (first semester calculus) at my high school. I understand math 9, so am taking math 10. However, it’s killing me. I spend at least 20 hours a week on it and still can’t seem to grasp some things. Does anyone have tips (aside from office hours and MRC)? Does anyone know what the exams are like?

I believe group tutoring is available for Math 10 as well.

Are you struggling because you don’t work quickly? Did you forget the material, or is it new? Integration is generally harder to learn than differentiation (and the solution is really practice, practice, practice to develop insight into which technique to use). Everything really depends on what you’re struggling to grasp, too.

20 hours is, for sure, far more than the class should be taking you. I can try to help you in person sometime; PM me.

You can also get individual tutoring. Talk to your professor – I’m pretty sure you need his/her signature for that. Group tutoring is easier to get.

Question: I am pre-med, so math 10 is a requirement. Would it be bad to take it S/NC?

It would be ill-advised to take any required course S/NC

Definitely ask people around you, especially the prof. Maybe i could help, pm me. I am also pre-med :)
