I was wondering, on average, what is the mean on exams in your typical Math 115 class? I am only looking for a rough estimate. And what would be the grading boundaries…again, only rough estimates.
Usually averages are around 70% on a math 115 exam. And scoring around the average is expected to get you a B/B-/C+. For a solid A, you are going to want to do at least 1 stddev higher than the median. For an A-, you are going to want to be at least at the 3Q mark. To pass the class with at least a C, you want to be no lower than 1 stddev lower than the median.
