Math 115?

How hard is it? I know it probably depends on a lot of stuff (how good you are naturally at math, what professor you get, etc.) but what's the general consensus on 115? I really need to take it but I'm scared because I didn't do well in Calc in HS. I had a terrible teacher, which didn't help, but I might have to reconsider my minor if 115 is notoriously killer. Anyway, anybody with ANY advice or words of wisdom: please speak up on anything you know about Math 115!

math in college is typically harder than high-school level math. Depending on your high-school teacher. In this case, I think you should be fine if you took Calc in High-school because Math 115 is basically Calc 1, which consists of Derivative all the way up to integration.

If you put the time into studying, Math 115 is completely doable. Exams are hard but they're all curved.

You should be able to pass it if you put the effort in. Whilst GSIs can be a hit or a miss, there are definitely plenty of resources to help you grasp the material well.

As for the curve though, mathematics courses are in general curved pretty hard in comparison to other departments.

I think it depends on what grade you are aiming for; to pass it wouldn't be too hard but to succeed will definitely be challenging.
