Math 16A Prerequisite?

According to the math department website, the prerequisites for Math 16A is–three years of high school math, including trigonometry, plus a satisfactory grade in one of the following: CEEB MAT test, an AP test, the UC/CSU math diagnostic exam, or 32.

I took BC Calculus in high school and got A’s both semesters, but I didn’t pass the AP exam. My SAT math scores weren’t very good either. Does this mean I can’t take 16A? Also, is the UC math diagnostic exam required?

Thanks

You can take 16A. The math diagnostics test is this really informal math test that suggests what math class you should take. The math department really doesn’t care and wont check to see if you did any of the above.

If you got A’s in BC Calculus, then you should do fine with Math 16A and there’s no restrictions on you that won’t allow you to take the class.
