Ok so I got a 790 on my June SAT Math 2 score and now I’m a bit worried. I’m trying my best not to sound pretentious but I was always told that for this specific test there is a huge difference between 800 and 790. I plan to apply to extremely competitive BS/MD programs so should I attempt a retake in October?
According to the 2015 chart, it’s just a 4 point percentile drop from 800 to 790 (81 to 77). However, if a person gets an 800, one can’t tell where he/she might fall if the test were more discriminating in the top range.
Doesn’t look like a huge difference, so I think most people would say don’t bother retaking.
