<p>If you get the credit on the exams, there’s no reason you should be taking the proficiency exam for that same credit. However, I don’t know of any advisor that would let you skip out on any class if you failed the proficiency exam for it. If you fail the proficiency exam, that’s kind of indicative you don’t know enough about that subject to meet university standards.</p>
<p>It’s a question to ask your advisor during your summer registration.</p>
