Any opinions if it is better to take this class during the year or during the summer? Any professors to recommend for this class? Is it a time consuming, hard class?

Ahh. Diffie-Q. (as we used to call Differential Equations).

I don’t have any specific advice, but I remember that the only math class I ever made an A in was Advanced Calculus (after Calc 1,2, and 3) that I took in the summer. The exams came so fast after the homework and lectures, it being a summer course, that I did not have time to forget the material before the tests. Learn-Test-Forget instead of the usual Learn-Forget-Learn-Test-Forget.

Where did you take this class in the summer?

Somewhere a long time ago and far, far away from USC. The math hasn’t changed much.

I didn’t take 225, but math courses at USC tend to have a higher percent of the grade devoted to HW (20-30%, instead of 10-20% in most sci & engineering classes)

This isn’t a problem really, but it means a bit more time to be spent on doing the HW well.

Diff EQ…
