Math 230/Phys 260

How many hours a week of outside work do math 230 and phys 260 take respectively?

a lot. don’t take them the same semester, ESPECIALLY not first semester freshman year.

did you actually take them…as far as I know most people take them together if you are taking phys 260. (and if you take phys260, math 230 is “officially” a co-requisite though I know a lot of people just take math 120) During my BDD visit someone told me about 6hrs/week per class and just wanted to hear some other opinions.

I didn’t take them, but a couple people on my entryway floor freshman year took them and regularly worked together on problem sets in our suite. You’re definitely right that it’s standard to take them together, and if you’re a serious Math or Physics student, I’d say you almost certainly should take them both. As for workload, my impression is that 6 hours/week per class would be on the low end, I’d say somewhere in the range of 6-10, depending on how hard the problem set is for a particular week and how good you are.
