math 2c

currently i’m studying from the kaplan math 2 subject test review book…but i’m not sure if this is a great book to study from b/c i’ve never really heard people who got 800s studying from kaplan…

does anybody know if this book is worth studying from? how about the mcGrawhill book for math 2 subject test? any other suggested books? thankss :)

i got an 800, and i studied from kaplan. i thought it was a good book that helped me with the test so i would continue using it to study.

Are the tests in Kaplan generally harder, easier, or the same as the actual test? I have to book too, and I want to score an 800.

can somebody answer this question please?

How many ways can 2 identical red chairs and 4 identical blue chairs be arranged in one row?
I know the answer is 15, but how would you write that in nPr form?

thanks again!

Not so sure about the nPr form…but

I’d solve the problem as if it were a “how many ‘words’ can you form” problem.

You have the word RRBBBB. To find out the number of arrangements of the word, you do (total number of letters)! / (the number of times a letter repeats)!(the number of times a letter repeats)! (if there are more repeatings letters, continue…)

so it is 6!/(2!4!)

the kaplan tests are harder, and they’re also much longer. for example, the night before i took the test i did a practice test and i was at #35 after 1 hour; however, i was able to finish the test and briefly look problems over during the real test.
