Year 11 [Junior Year?] Advanced Maths results and Year 11 Physics results are legitimately going to ruin my application and chances of even being considered for NYU Abu Dhabi.

Reason being, I never studied Year 10, due to participating in a Student Exchange program in 2010 for a year, where I didn’t have the chance to continue with Maths. With pressuring school and parents, I was automatically placed in Advanced Maths, hating life and failing most tests. I was pushed into Physics in Semester 2 by my father.

Is there any chance I can even be considered with these stupid scores? God I’m dumb.

MATHS:

Sem1. = D (58%) , E (40%) , B (80%) , F (32%) , E (45%) , F (30%)
Sem2. = F (26%) , C (65%) , F (30%) , E (43%) , F (18%) , F (34%)

PHYSICS:

Sem2. = D (54%) , C (61%) , C (70%) , E (42%)

Whaaaaat do I do?

I don’t want to live on the streets…

bump.

Wondering if taking the SAT and achieving over 2100 would help?

They’re kind of low, especially considering how difficult it is to get into Abu Dhabi. And surely a 2100+ SAT score will help…

But, why do you think you’ll live on the streets if you don’t get into NYU? That’s kind of over dramatic…

NYUAD, considering its acceptance rate is lower than Harvard and is seen as just as, if not more selective than Harvard, I would think its out of the question; they’re looking for top scores across the board from their students.

To be honest, I was joking about living on the street.

But do say that I average B’s and A’s in other subjects, I have a large range of extra curriculars (Including studying as exchange student), Recieve really good recommendations and have an awesome essay… and get a SAT score of 2200+, would it be achievable in any way? :

There’s ALWAYS a chance but to be honest, B’s aren’t even going to cut it for Abu Dhabi. I guarantee you hundreds of students with straight A’s get rejected every year…

highly unlikely, but, hey, you can apply and see what happens. just make sure you have other schools that you like and have a better chance at

I’ve just calculated my GPA for junior year, with Maths and physics included.
2.4
Yikes!

Semester 1 Senior Year I’ve achieved a 3.2 though…?

By the way, what does it mean to be nominated by your councellor?

The AVERAGE GPA for NYU overall is 3.7; with a 2.4, it’s just completely unrealistic.

I’m pretty sure I’ve calculated it wrong.
What’s the best way to calculate HS GPA?
We don’t do this in Australia.

Basic way of doing it, A=4.0,B=3.0,C=2.0 and D=1.0. Add them all up and find the average.
