Math Answer Error?

<p>This is from the CB subject book. Math IC </p>

<p>x is defined between -2 and 2 inclusive. Function is y=(1+x)^2. What is the range? </p>

<p>I think it should be between 1 and 9 inclusive. The book say the answer is between 0 and 9. Answer error or stupid student? </p>

<p>And correct answer rate is only 14%. =/</p>

<p>(1±1)^2=0</p>
