Does UCSD have better math (pure) & biology than UCD?
Just curious…

UCSD is better at biology than UCD (I have it right this time, right therighteous? XD). For math, I don’t think either school lists this as a strong point since the UC that’s known for that is Berkeley, although I would still lean UCSD.

ucsd probably has better math program…for bio, it depends…agricultural/animal/environmental i would say davis excels over sd, but human bio, general bio, biochem, etc sd is better.

Yeah, UCD is ranked second in the country for “pre-vet” (didn’t know this existed until my friend talked about it) which is supposedly a track for vet school. UCSD is good for biochem for sure since it has the “pre-pharm” (didn’t know about this either since it’s not really called pre-pharm) and that new Skagg’s School of Pharmacy.

5,092 out of 22,735 total undergraduate students at UC Davis are in the College of Biological Sciences. So almost 1 in 4 students are in Bio related majors at Davis, which is a very high % of its total student population.

For the Top 20 schools in Biological Sciences, here is U.S. News rankings…

I will post the Math rankings for the UC’s when I get home from school later today.

If UC San Francisco is on there, that means those rankings are for graduates. UCSF doesn’t have an undergrad program so how does it compete in rankings like that oO;;

Yeah these are graduate rankings, which usually provides a good idea of the strength of a school’s undergraduate program also. US News only do these specialized rankings for the graduate level.
