Math Class Senior Year/College Admissions

Hello, Im Isaiah and I am a junior in high school. By the end of my junior year (June 2012), I will have 9 credit hours of high school math (2 credits for Algebra I, 2 credits for Geometry, 2 credits for Algebra II/DC, 1 Credit for Trigonoemtry/DC, and 2 for AP Calculus (AB) 2+2+2+1+2=9. Do I really need to take a math class my senior year? I want to major in Social Studies/Spanish Secondary School Teaching or Managment Information Systems.

Does your school offer Statistics? Its a great class for anyone strongly interested in social sciences and teaching. I’ve never enjoyed math, but I LOVED statistics, and have used it through-out my career.

Yes they do, AP Statistics.

And what is your current job?

Many social studies majors will require statistics, although they may require a more in-depth or major-specific statistics course than AP statistics.

MIS is typically a business school major; as such, it will typically require a year of calculus (AB = a semester of college calculus) and a semester of statistics (which may or may not accept AP statistics).
