I am currently a sophomore in high school and plan on studying biological anthropology the going to med school. Should I take stats or calc to better prepare myself for that path?

I assume that calc is part of the math sequence your high school offers (alg, geom…). If you like math and do well, take it. I assume stats is an elective offered by your high school. Again if you like math and do well, take it. As a 15/16 year old, focus on doing well in your high school years with an eye towards college, not med school. Just as importantly don’t forget that you’re a high school student, enjoy those years. Maybe taking calc and/or stats in some broad sense will help you challenge yourself or say help you develop time management skills which could be useful to you no matter what pathway you go down, med school or something totally different. Also, don’t forget, make a point to enjoy your high school years.Good luck.
