Math/Econ or Bachelor of Arts in Math?

Hi everyone!

I’m currently interested in finance and investing. I want to get a second bachelor’s degree in math-related major. I’m now choosing between math/econ major and bachelor of arts in math, which is different from bachelor of science in math in the way that arts in math doesn’t require students to take additional science courses.

Right now, I think math/econ requires me to take courses specific to investing but lacks emphasis on math whlie the math major helps me build up a more powerful math and logical mind and is a lot more in depth into math. But I’ve heard that investment banks really love students with hard science background. So I’m wondering which one seems better for me?

If you want to do finance, go to NYU Stern unless you want to work in CA.

To akalboy:
I might go there for graduate, but I want to stay in USC for undergraduate and take courses that can actually prepare me for finance or mathemetical finance.
