Math/Engineering/Stats Masters

I graduated last year with a degree in Finance and really want to try and work on the quantitative side. I want to apply for different Engineering, Stats, or Math Masters programs but am not sure how my application would be received without the proper background. I went to a respectable but not top school with had really good grades and will have no problem scoring in the top 10 percentile on the GRE.

If anyone has any experience or knowledge it would be really helpful, I have been hearing contradictory things. I guess my main question is would they view my application negatively only because of my undergrad major, even though everything else would look great? I know I would need to take a ton of prerequisites just to begin the program. I have been looking at Illinois and similar schools.
