MATH II SAT: Spark Notes vs. the Real Test?

For those who used the MATH II Sparks Notes TESTS recently… How did your score compare to the actual Math II SAT Subject Test??

How reliable…how close?

Thanks for any input…

Very accurate. Got 800 on the 5ish tests that I took and 800 on the real thing.

thank james

has anyone taken the sat II for math after doing a practice test on sparknotes?

There are several other (pretty current) threads in which this issue has been addressed. But in short they seem to be very close to the actual test.

Okay so has anyone taken practice test #2 on Sparknotes?? I got a 790 because of the stupid question that was like, "which graph has a range of (-5,5). Is there a typo? Because they chose a graph which had the range of [-5,5). Their explanation was:
The answer is letter A because the range is (-5,5). It is not letter B because the range is not (-5,5). WTH?

lol… We did sparks math II over the weekend too–might have been same test—and one of the questions said you chose the wrong answer…you chose B and the correct answer is B … ***? I just hand scored it in. Also the 2 map/graphs for graph reading were missing in the US history test 2…

ps…

To me it looks like the math is going to be pretty dead on… biology on sparks may be harder than the real deal and us history about even… it would be good if CC people who have taken the subject tests already and who used Sparks would respond…The question has been asked often, but there have not been that many post-test responses…

sweeet. i got an 800 on the first test, and i didn’t know if i actually had a chance of achieving this on the real test

not really for me I got 670 on Spark
and 3 days later 790 on real thing

From my personal and my students’ experience - very close. Just in 2008 I took both Math Level 1 and Level 2 three times. Very few questions on Level 2 were outside of SparkNotes scope. Besides, you can omit a few questions on that level and still get 800. I find SparkNotes a little easier though.
Beware of a few typos in the SN books (I am not sure about the website).
