Math Level 2 HELP!!!!

I’ve tried this question, looked at the explanation, but really don’t get it. I’d prefer a non-graphical explanation.

The graph of the curve represented by:
X = sec t
Y = cox t
is . . .
A line, a hyperbola, an ellipse, a line segment, or a portion of a hyperbola.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

t=arcsec x
y=cos t=cos (arcsec x)=1/sec(arcsec x)=1/x
y=1/x

x is defined for all real numbers except -1<=x<=1
y is defined for -1<=y<=1
Hence the function should be undefined in -1<=x<=1
It should be a portion of a hyperbola
