Math Major - Should I add Chemistry Major

Hey Guys,
I’ve gone into a college kinda interweaving between chemistry and math (and some other science courses…) and I’m done with my first year now and I’m strongly to the math side of things. Looking at my schedule into the future I could easily add a chemistry major without any extra stress, but would it be worth my time?

If it was, I could take organic, physical, and analytical chem next year (Already tested out of general chem) and then would take chemical literature seminar and instrumental analysis and inorganic chemistry next year (along with abstract algebra, advanced calculus, numerical analysis, etc.)

Would it be worth my time to add a chemistry major, or would it just be a waste of time? The chem lit sem would give me another guaranteed research opportunity that would help me out for grad school admissions. What do you think?

By “worth it”, do you mean in terms of job and career prospects? Math majors have decent job and career prospects (though mainly in finance and computers; supplemental elective courses in those areas would help); chemistry majors’ job and career prospects are unlikely to be better (unless you don’t want to go anywhere near finance and computers).

Of course, if you have space in your schedule and just want to take chemistry courses as out-of-major electives, then feel free to do so.
