Math Major vs Engineering Major

I am very interested in pursuing Math (may be with theoretical physics combo).

What are the job prospects of a Math Major vs an Engineering Major (say for eg - Computer Science).

For some reason, it seems to me that, Math major is not so popular even amongst those who are really passionate about Math… are there any reasons why?

Which are the top colleges that are really reputed for Math Majors? What are the future prospects of those students? Why is not being as sought after as the Engg. Majors?

Is BSc Engg a better qualification as such compared to BSc Math or BSc Physics?

Do we need to write the intended major in the common application? Is it possible to change later? Also I think for US colleges, we apply for the college and NOT the major initially…

Appreciate your confirmation on the above…

Thanks.

IMO math majors and engineering majors both have great job prospects. Also, I think Princeton is known for math majors.
