Math Major, which school would you go to?

My son was accepted to UCSD, SLO and Pepperdine in Math. He ultimately wants to go to law school. Which undergraduate school do you think is a better choice and which has cache for the law schools, does it make that much of a difference to the law schools which undergrad you went to?

Of those three, UCSC absolutely has the better math program, hands down.

That said…why is your kid majoring in math if he wants to go to law school?

Yes, your undergrad institution matters. If two people have the same degree and same GPA, but one went to Loyola and the other went to Stanford, there is a clear difference. But you will also perform better at less-prestigious institutions. I vote UCSD.

^typo: UCSD* absolutely has a better math program.

Math is actually a very good pre-law major.

UCSD is by far the most prestigious for math and possibly overall.
