Hi,

What do you guys think of a great name for a new math org that focuses on serious math, research, heavy-duty problem solving and everything in between. It will be the centre (resources) for math enthusiasts and professionals alike. Moreover, one of its missions is to educate the masses about math (beauty of math, applications of math to the “real world”, works of mathematician, the list go on…).

Anyone interested in helping me with this pursuits, please pm me (We need a variety of people). This will be a non-profit organization. I wanna make this one of the best organizations in the nation, if not the world.

Thank you!

P.S. Please don’t do this to pump up your resume. Do this because you are genuinely passionate about math and its importance.

How about M-Mathematical A-Association of T-Thinking H-Humans? MATH…lol. Any other ideas are welcomed!

No one? This is a highly satisfying endeavor!

SPACEMEN

Schrodinger
Pythagorus
Agnesi (female)
Copernicus
Einstein
Mobius
Euclid
Newton

Any mathematicians with starting letter T and H?

this is one of the nerdiest things ever

And how is this can be considered as nerdy? This forum is for nerds, college is for nerds, academic is for nerds and world leaders are nerds. So, how come being a nerd is a shameful thing? Why are you even on this forum then? We do not welcome people like you.

i am nerdy but this takes nerdy to a whole another degree.

who do you want this organization to appeal to?

@stevehwan: You gotta be kidding me! Anyway, I don’t have time to play with you…Good luck finding other playing stuffs.

@fatladysings: Mainly, it will caters to serious math students around the world who are looking to sharpen their problem solving skills and doing advanced researches (like for Intel STS).
But, it will also includes other stuffs such as interviews with mathematicians (like Cogito), etc etc

^ dude. how old are you…?

Why? How is that relevant here?

you seem very immature

Hardy.

Check out ArtOfProblemSolving. It has a lot of what you’re talking about, save perhaps the “serious research”–though that can be found. It’s geared towards problem solving (not surprisingly).

What a bunch of idiots!

By the way stevehwan, you just broke several stuff in law (human rights) or Universal Declaration of Human Rights by United Nation: article 1, 3, 5, and 19 (not to mention the others if I wanna relate it to)

bagpiper, nice reply by saying “Hardy” and your good advice. When put into context, you are also in deep water…Read the doc below for more info.

OR, HERE’S THE LINK: [Universal Declaration of Human Rights](http://www.un.org/Overview/rights.html) and it is still valid now…

So, what’s the conclusion? Don’t mess up with me! The law is by my side!
