Math Question

This problem must have a fairly simple solution, but I can’t figure it out; I’ve tried it out a couple of times. Here it is:

a person spends 9.60 for jellybeans and chocolate
the chocolate costs 2 times as much as the jellybeans
the person buys 3 times as many jellybeans as of chocolate
how much did the person spend on chocolate?

The answer should be 3.84

Let 2x be the price of chocolate and x be the price of jellybeans.

3x+2x= 9.60 (the 3x comes from 3 times the jellybeans)
5x= 9.60

x=1.92
Chocolate’s cost is 2x, so 2 x 1.92 is 3.84

thank you very much. i was doing the problem using two different variables for the chocolate and jellybeans. i see what i did wrong now.
