So I was reading this question and it is pretty ambiguous…

10) since the beginning of the year, the number of articles on randy’s website has doubled during every 2-month period of time. If there were about 7200 articles in randy’s website at the beginning of July, how many articles were on randy’s website at the beginning of January?

Okay so do they mean the beginning of the year(like the same year where he had 7200 articles during July) or did the question mean the next year(like the new year January)

They meant January as the first month of the year of the year in which he had 7200.

Btw where did you get this question? This question seems to assume outside knowledge that’s usually not tested on the SAT, but I don’t really know.

Yess^
though I’m a she…
But anyway yeah I got it from PR 11 practice test. And I find it quite ambiguous. It just say JANUARY. meanin it can be that January or next Jan.

If there were about 7200 articles in randy’s website at the beginning of July, how many articles **were **on randy’s website at the beginning of January?
