<p>I have just completed IB math methods 1, which is basically a precalculus, and I was planning on taking the Math subject test (IIC) this fall, but I was wondering if there would be any real advantage to taking calculus first?</p>
<p>I have not taken IB, so I’m not sure what it’s like, but I have taken Math II, and it has no calculus at all. There’s some basic limit stuff, but that should have been covered in precalc. Personally, I did take calc before Math II, but that one was year prior, so by the time of the SATs, I didn’t remember much calc and still did very awesomely. So, the answer to your question is no, no advantage.</p>

<p>Yeah, most people just take it after precalc. That’s plenty of math.</p>
