Math req for med school

<p>because i passed AP calc BC with a 3…
i got exempted from Math Calc 2A class.
at our university, calc course is divided into 2 qtrs…math calc 2a/ 2b
i naturally took 2b because i got opted out from 2a…
but i hear med school don’t accept ap credits. (what’s the whole point of taking AP classes then… -_-)
anyways in order to satisfy med school’s calc req, i’d have to take another calc class…right?
well i certainly don’t want to take upper div calc class…but i can’t take 2a again either…administration won’t give me credit even if i ace the class…
so i was thinking…is it possible to just take math calc 2a equivalent at community college and get the grade from there?
so my question is…</p>

a grade i (already) earned from my university in math 2b </p>

<p>will those satisfy med school req on math?</p>

<p>our school operates on a quarter system so one academic year consists of 3 quarters…so a full year of calc is 2 qtrs worth(math 2a/2b) here at our university… does that matter?</p>

<p>to make the discussion easier, would it help if i attended one of the UC (university of california) schools?</p>

<p>so basically i have the follow stats right now:</p>

<p>Calc 2A (1 qtr worth) - got a credit from AP test
Calc 2B (1 qtr worth) - got a grade from our university
Statistics (1 qtr worth)- got a grade from our university…</p>

<p>The vast majority of schools will accept AP credit for math. And even if they don’t, you still have 2 quarters worth taken, which should suffice.</p>

<p>I had heard that it is good to look at the individual medical schools that you might be interested in applying to and see what their specific requirements are. I heard the math requirement can vary widely, but I have never checked into this myself.</p>

<p>You need to find out from specific Med. school websit and also contact their admissions. Requirements are different, there are some general ones, but you need to find out specifics of school if you are planning to apply there.</p>
