Math SAT II Question

Normally I wouldn’t ask this since it seems the answer is usually the same, but I thought I would anyways. I got a 780 on the June Math SAT II. Normally I would be OK and not retake even though I feel I can get an 800, but I go to TJHSST in Alexandria, VA where I’d say half the kids get an 800.

Do you think that I should retake it because of this (comparison to other TJ kids), or does that not really matter?

I wouldn’t bother. Focus on the other aspects of your application.

Wow, I’ve heard of TJHSST - they have like a dozen US Physics Team semifinalists every year. (We got FOUR lol)

I can see that your school is very competitive - so is ours (South Brunswick High School). I know a kid who took Math IIC three times because he got 790 twice.

But as far as I would advise, don’t worry so much about it and spend time on other things that are also important.

780 is a decent score. You do not have to worry about it as long as it is 750+.
And colleges would not care if you got 780 or 800. The difference is too small. It would probably not hurt you during admission.

I also got a 780 on the math IIc, but I retook it in june. It wasn’t a smart decision, nor a wise one, but I still ended up getting an 800 in June. But even with that 800, i don’t think that colleges with think anyless of your score than mine because like hostyoutube said, you’ll be fine with any thing over 750+
