Math Section of the ACT

How hard is the Math section?

I took Geometry last year, but I always struggled. So are there any websites to help prepare me for the Geometry/trig part of the test?

Also how hard are the word problems?

thanks.

I took the ACT for the first time in March and after I finished the math section I was horrified. I was definitely not prepared for the pace of the test so if I had any advice I’d say TIME YOURSELF! The PSAT gives you a lot more time. On the other hand, they have a pretty generous curve. I think I maybe filled in 5 randomly because I ran out of time and I still got a 34 subscore on the math (go figure…) And math is not my forte… at all.

The word problems aren’t too bad and they are mostly simple mathematic operations.

I like [Number2.com :: Free Online Test Prep](http://www.number2.com) for my test prep. I think SparkNotes has good prep but I’ve never been on it for math…

I took the one in Feb. and got a 31 math but it was mainly because of Honors Algebra II. Wait till you get to higher math classes and you will see signnificant changes that the prep books can’t teach you without help fromsomeonewho knows it. I mean, you probably could figure it out if you worked at it but why gothrough the trouble nowbecause your math teacher will be able toteah you it properly and if you get in habits now that you are accustomed to doing in math (or anythig really) it’s hard to break it. So if you learn the wrong way to do it that workson some problems but not all of them, it’s going to he hard for you to break that habit onceyou get accustomed to it. And what I did for a lot of them is used the answers givento plug into the poblem and see if it works :).
