Matriculation Strategies

I can think of two:

If you want to go into investment banking or management consulting, go to the most selective school you can.

If you want to go to graduate school right after college, go to the school where you’ll graduate with the least amount of debt.

Addition:

Look at postgrad surveys and also the specialty of the school. NYU may not be as selective as Emory but for business you would rather have Stern.

Also, raise your GPA as much as possible and avoid grade deflation schools if possible.

Avoid grade deflation schools if you’re going to professional schools. Graduate programs often take into account what a typical GPA is from your school when looking at your application.

I presume by “graduate school” you mean professional schools like Law and Medicine. If you plan to go for a PhD, it is not that difficult to get a fellowship.
