Maximizing Collegboard SAT material and tests

From what I have seen, most people recommend buying THE blue book. I have, in fact, bought the 2013 blue book (las year) and I was curious to see if each year, new tests are released in the blue book, or not. For example, if I bought the 2014 blue book, could I anticipate different tests than that which I had already taken in my 2013 blue book?If so, then one could buy blue books from before and the new ones for more tests. However, I must express a certain amount of skepticism for this theory as my edition says “second” so I figure there is a first, perhaps a third, but not as many as I would like.

In addition, after proceeding from taking the tests in the blue book, could one sign up for the online course for 10 addition tests? After that, a student may search for tests released by collegeboard (I’ve heard they release tests periodically, perhaps annually?) and possibly buy used PSAT tests (and how much were they?).

If you happen to know anything, even if it be a rumor, please do input. If possible, I would prefer to maximize the use of collegeboard tests, and hopefully reduce the use of alternatives. Thank you!

(in one sentence, are the tests in each year’s blue book different?)

The blue book is a fundamental and is essential to your SAT practice… please just buy it and don’t think any further than that (if it’s the case that you already purchased it, newer versions usually hold the same tests as previous year’s editions)

I have the second edition… But I will probably run out of tests soon. Retaking tests is not an option because I remember almost all the answers, even after months.

However, after much research I believe that there is an edition 1, without writing, and possibly and edition 3. Afterwards, there is the online course. Well, I guess I will look further into after finishing all my tests in my current blue book

Use the search feature of this site or use google search for terms such as QAS or Official or released tests. You should not have to dig deep to find plenty of tests. This is a subject that often comes up in this forum.

The reality is that there are so many tests one could find that “running out of tests” simply shows the lack of efforts by one to locate them. There are indeed few variations in the editions of the Blue Book – another subject often discussed here. As far as buying past editions, many parts of the original white and red books would still be good.

All in all, you should not run of tests anytime soon!
