What kind of GPA scale seems to be the best in terms of maximizing one’s GPA for premed/undergrad?..the kind of scale where an A = 4.0, B = 3.0, C = 2.0, etc…or the kind of scale where A = 4.0, -A = 3.6, +B = 3.4, B = 3.0, etc.? Both scales seems to have its risks and advantages and im not really sure which one is better, or are they both just equally fair?

If you are the type of person that makes straight A’s, the first one is better, since you dont have to deal with A- and whatnot screwing your gpa, and professors will generally be more lenient in giving the A if you’re a little back. If you are the type of person that gets a mix of A’s and B’s and has a gpa around 3.5 then the second is better, since you’ll get more credit for the B+. In general its alot easier to get the 4.0 on the first system, and alot easier to get the 3.7 on the second system.

What are some schools that do NOT give out +'s or -'s? Or do most colleges not do that?

this is the VERY VERY LAST thing that you should consider when chosing a college if at all! I’m sure whatever system a college has is fair or else something would’ve been done about it already.

The second one is usually better because most of time proffessors become reluctant of giving too many A’s with the first system
