May '09 Scores Thread

soadquake981, normally -1 is a 770-790, so that means this math curve was good.

CR: 770 (YAY!!)
M: 660…
W: 690 No essay score yet?

Is it true that math is easiest and fastest to raise?

@Dolewhip - Yeah, I’ve seen that before. Normally, you can’t miss any to get an 800, right?

Wait, how do we know that the May 2009 math curve was good? Have people missed a question and still gotten 800? I’m pretty sure I didn’t miss any, and I got 800.

from what i have seen, i haven’t spotted a 790 in math or a 780.
im pretty sure i didnt get any wrong (800), but who knows?

Math-540
CR-600
W-630 (Essay-11)

I did so well on the essay! mustve bombed the MC…

I’m certain I got one wrong in math, and I got an 800.

CR: 710
M: 660
W: 620 << I was so shocked as I usually have immaculate grammar

Essay 8<< This wasn’t shocking
MC: 63

Cr: 670
M:700
W:710(10 Essay 68 MC)

What can I do to improve this to

W:800
CR:750
M:750+

???

WR is easy to improve.YOu dont need to improve your CR - it is almost perfect.Keep practising your SAT M .Do some real tests (qas)

@112358 - Which math question did you get wrong?

Math: 730
CR: 540
Writing: 590 (Essay - 8)

Combined 1860. Was my first time and didn’t study much, only a few BB practice tests. I thought I did better in CR :(

I also expected a better score in Writing since I thought I did the MC pretty well even though I couldn’t complete my essay.

Happy with Math, though I’m 100% sure that the 2 or 3 mistakes I made are really stupid mistakes and could have easily gotten 800.

I still cant believe I got a 770 on CR…

But I repeat my question: Is it true that math is the easiest section to raise?

has anyone recieved the qas yet? holla at me

@ powerbomb

Math is definitely the easiest section to improve on. You need to have all the concepts clearly in your head and then keep on practicing questions and learn from your mistakes. And avoid the silly mistakes as much as possible since they really bring down your score (70 points in my case:( )

Unfortunately for me, CR is the hardest to improve on.

1st Time (October session):
690 CR
650 Math
700 Writing (9 Essay, 69 MC)
2040 or 1340 CR/Math

This Time:
720 CR
670 Math
780 Writing (10 Essay, 77 MC)
=2170 or 1390 CR/Math

I certainly FEEL like I peaked and that is about what I expected to jump and about what I felt I got coming out of the test. But, ideally, I was aiming for a 700 Math and a 750 CR. Should I try it again and risk getting a lower writing score? It sucks to sit at a 1390. The difference between a psychological (I don’t really care about 10 points, but I understand the impact of what a 1400 means just as high scorers understand the impact that a 1590 vs. 1600 has) cut off like 1400 is only TEN points away. I don’t know. I’m thinking just to accept it and be glad I have a near perfect writing score (even though my first choice doesn’t even look at it). Anyway…advise?

Your essay is probably being re-scored. The 2 readers were either more than 1 point apart, or, your handwriting was hard to read! :)

CR 720
M 800
W 800 (12 essay, 77 MC)

Wish I had more than 2 days of prep. As an international student needing aid, I’m screwed!
Cr- 740
Wr- 700
Maths-750
And I can’t afford the trouble of traveling 500 kms. to give it again either :frowning: Btw, isn’t this exactly the same as my 33 on ACT? I thought SAT might be better coz I had no books to prep for SAT…
