i don’t know how to start but i don’t understand how can a college accepts me for admission and days later denies me. how come?. is it the worst could ever happen to me. i was so excited when i got accepted to my 1st choice college. I also was telling everybody that i was getting ready to go there. i couldn’t believe it, was like a dream and i swear that every morning when i wake up i thanked Jesus everyday cus i got in the college of my dreams. i didn’t visit the college at 1st time cus i was waiting for my acceptance letter to do so. later on april 29th, i decided to visit the school. i was mad excited that i called my parents to ask 'em for deposit the same day. so, i got enrolled and everything was fine and didn’t leave the place until i clarify my doubts about financial aid. i asked to the admissions office 'bout financial aid cus they never sent me info. of loans that school offers. then, they just gave a verification worksheet and i wasn’t that happy cus obviously i’m citizen born in the u.s. and surely i qualify for that crap. i was like: why the heck they gave me that?.. helloo i’m not international. minutes later i agreed to send 'em the packages by mail. after that i was still excited until today. oh no! may 1st is really a bad day!.. after i came from high school my sister called me at home and told me that the college admissions office can’t continue with the process of registration cus i’m not accepted. it’s unbelieveable cus i received the acceptance letter on april 2nd, so i called 'em immediately to know what was going on. then they just replied that probably i missunderstood the letter. i guess counselors of that school don’t even know what info… they send to applicants. they asked for the info… of the letter. unafortunately i couldn’t tell 'em instantly cus i was really furious. i tear the letter in small pieces and threw it in the garbage. luckily it was the wastebasket of my room and later i started looking for the tiny pieces of paper between other trash and found the pieces. so i had to join the pieces again as if it were a puzzle. when i finished joining 'em i got what was the info… and wrote to them by e-mail explaining what is the entire letter about and i don’t have a clue what’s gonna happen later. at this moment i’m just very upset. a friend of mine told to not give up but it’s not easy to insist. it’s not fair what that college is doing to me. it’s like they are just playing by changing their mind whether to admit me for the fall semester or not. not nice cus i waste my money, spent time, i tried the hardest to get in.

wow i never even knew that was possible for colleges to do. Its pretty unfair and they should offer you admission (again) to that college.

okay i didn’t read your entire post…but basically they sent you an acceptance letter and now they say you really got denied?

complain. complain a lot. to everyone you can think of…the dean of admissions, for sure. i have read about this before on here (cc) and i am pretty sure that a lot of the time, to be courteous, they will let you in if they have made a mistake.

Wait, so did you just misread, and thus misunderstand your rejection?

Or did you receive a “false” acceptance letter when they had actually decided to reject you?

If the first, that really sucks but I dont think you can do anything about it. If the second and you are still interested in attending, I would definitely make a racket and complain. You never know…

Okay I think get it now. You got accepted but when u asked bout FA, they backed out? That sounds totally uncool and unprofessional of the school.
Get your GC to talk to them.
And can you go down there directly again? I think in these situations, schools like these will ignore your e-mails. Phone calls are better.

Go down to the college and smack somebody.

Even if they for some reason still don’t let you in, you’ll at least feel much better.

Paragraphs!

If this isn’t a ■■■■■ post, then what college did that?

How can a letter be ambiguous enough to be interpreted as both a acceptance/rejection? And if you were initially accepted, wouldn’t they include all sorts of forms w/ the letter?

~Did not read entire post either~

I would say that tearing up the letter probably wasn’t the brightest of ideas.
it’s a very trollish thing to do actually.

I didn’t even know colleges were allowed to do that! It’s absurd, and I know it’s not allowed in the UK.

Complain! Complain, complain and complain again until they concede. They simply cannot get away with that.

tl;dr

what college is this?

I smell a ■■■■■

Same. Especially since there’s only one post.

DO NOT FEED THE ■■■■■■.

K thx.

hehe…■■■■■■

what is a ■■■■■

A mythical, cave-dwelling being depicted in folklore as either a giant or a dwarf, typically having a very ugly appearance.

To give you a hint, ^ this makes me a ■■■■■.
