MAY 2005 SAT TEST – FORM ONE (verbal experimental)

cofeehouse uhh i think i did good on that one… that girl with the weird name like Imogene or something, she was “domineering” and uhh… her friends were “clever but judgmental” and… at the end the girl was “distant”…

…does that make sense?

yeah that makes sense…um I forget what I did for the “clever but judgmental” thing…I hope this one was experimental though…I NEVER GET ANY WRONG IN SC and I left like 3 blank on this section.

i said “domineering” and “distant” but i said “humurous but crude” instead because it said how Marya laughed at the funny imitations, yet she didn’t want to be the one being made fun of, so i went with humurous and crude

h4zin, I got the same as you.
Instead of “conditions…had to endure,” I said something like “the way he described Africa in response to circumstances.”

phatcatman21, i have the same answers

what about the last question on the whole thing, number 14…about silk? my brain died just about then and no matter how many times i went through it i couldnt get an answer.

I said humourous but crude… darn.

Did anyone get something and ironic for the musicians question.

math:
the one that formed a triangle with three lines…it said what is the sum of x, y, and z, ■■■■ i totally guessed, i somehow got 215. the only angle i could find was “z” becuz it was a vertical angle to an angle that’s 35 degrees.

i omitted three total, two of em were:

the last one in that section, with the positive prime number thing, n=p^2+100p i think. and i omitted the one about five freight trains i think, and four of em held their full capacy but the 5th one only held to 60% capacity…368 tons between all 4 i think.

merudh, statisically is makes sense. you’re right. argh!

In the math grid in, the question was something like:
y=kx+b
if k and b are constants, what is k?

yeah humourous but crude was right

Re: general impression of the test
first math section - easy
math grid-ins and the other section - tougher
writing - hard
critical - the science fiction one had too many passages, it was unreasonably large

oh no, for the coffeehouse question i put “humorous but crude.” i debated between “clever but judgemental” and that, and in the end I decided that they weren’t judgemental…but marya was scared to be the joke of their “humorous” impersonation

I got 250 for that triangle I think.
And I got 48 tons.

for the 60% capacity i got 48. 4 cars with 80 and the fifth with 48. 48/80 = .6 or 60%

angles - 250
coal cars - 48
slope (‘k’): 3
prime number: 101

the mid math section was hard- but anyways, how do you do that one where it’s like when x goes down by four y goes up by 12? ( I got the right answer though- fortunately)

k was 3 or 4, i forget if x was 3 k was 4 if k was 4 x was 3

humurous but crude was not correct, it was clever but judgmental. it didn’t say anything about being crude.

the sum of x, y and z, i got 250. is that correct?

The freight train one, i forget what i got.
