In the “Mutiny” passage, I put attributed the seaman’s motivation for Bligh’s POV as “self-interest” as opposed to “desire for power” (though I was a bit conflicted over that one).

i did self-interest as well

it was self-interest

I put self-interest, because they wanted to get the woman and gold.

agreed: self-interest

we’ll never know for sure – but the major accepted dictionary definition of redolent means “relating to smell,” (even collegeboard’s accepted definition over all theses years has been smell, not nostalgia reminisence) and it’s strengthened by the word “waft” — in the sentence there was nothing involving smelling (if they wanted u to pick that, they would have said something like – and the sweet smell of the prairie)… and words veer off the page… i’ve heard that expression before

if our writing was the experimental one, which writing do you think it was.

I hope it was teh one that mentioned the wall

I also put that Bligh didn’t communicate with the officers, so he didn’t know about the men’s concerns. Also, I put “patriotic pride” (that his actions were “right”) instead of “optimistic confidence” (he didn’t yet know he would survive the arduous, 4000 mi journey). I also put under “blues” that the difficulties had to do with the fact that the slaves were captured hundreds of years ago, and that it was a “scholarly hypothesis” as opposed to a “lesson learned.” Finally, under “Dove” I put “describes childhood memory” of Dove’s rules and their effects, as opposed to a comprehensive “character sketch” of Dove herself.

The wall was not the experimental one.

Was the one about the “study of film”
“that of the novel” (my answer)
or
“the novel’s study”?

asleeacn – i did the same thing… because novel’s study would imply differnet things

is everyone here sure that they had an extra writing section? because i had all of the same passages as you and i only had 2 writing sections, a 35 and a 10

Man…14 questions in 10 mins…I finished every other section w/at least 5 min to spare (including essay), but that one there was a time lapse of only, like, 20 sec. until time was up.

that of the novel

does any one remember the 32 hrs question?

also, for the cookie fnctn. did ppl get 240?

the reason i figured it wasn’t self interest was b/c passage 2 implied self interest also (it was in their self interest to get away from Bligh)

merudh123 :

that was easy bro answer is 30.
10 in front
Juan
19 Behind

10+19+1=30

BTW what was the experimental section (reading)???

yeah I didn’t ahve this test…just put it up here to clarify when I created the forums…yeah if I had that test I would have gotten it. I’m actually kinda sad I didn’t get your test, it seems to have been teh easiest of the 3.

hmm i went with optimistic confidence for the bligh passage, did anyone else put that?

for math, did anybody get the question ( it was the last of one of the sections) that had a number line and X between 0 and 1. and the question asked which applies,

I lxl<1
II lx-2l >1
III lxl + lx-1l =1

something like that?
