Resolved, That the objection of indelicacy and impropriety, which
is so often brought against woman when she addresses a public
audience, comes with a very ill-grace from those who encourage, by
their attendance, her appearance on the stage, in the concert, or
in feats of the circus.

That’s the original document. Notice how it says “comes with a very ill-grace from those who encourage, by their attendance.”

There was no answer choice talking about the expectations and pressures of men.

yea, the jazz one was going against the tradition NOT EASY TO PLAY LOL!!!

But the main point of the quote was that women were economically exploited. I can’t remember the exact wording of the encouragement choice, but I seem to remember it as too myopic and with too positive a tone.

You could be right, but that’s an extremely stupid question and shouldn’t have been on the test.

I thought the jazz one was the rising cultural value of immigrants but I know I’m wrong now.

I’m pretty sure the one about Lewis and Clark was that they formed treaties with Native American tribes, not that they explored Spanish & British lands (contrary to Nerdattack’s listing).

http://www.2idiotsinaboat.com/pilgrim/media/map2b.jpg</a>
If you look at this map, it’s pretty clear that they didn’t go anywhere near Spanish territory and the only British territory (Oregon) they came near was jointly owned by the US.

The Lewis and Clark Expedition Wikipedia page even says “another achievement of the Lewis and Clark Expedition was that it established friendly relations with some of the indigenous Native American Indians.” Am I crazy here?

What was invented after 1960?

Yeah, the question and quote were very odd. Well, I think that’s the whole quote up there?

This is the part before (which doesn’t look familiar):
Resolved, That the same amount of virtue, delicacy, and refinement
of behavior that is required of woman in the social state, should
also be required of man, and the same transgressions should be
visited with equal severity on both
man and woman.

And the part after was definitely not part of the quote.

[Microprocessor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Microprocessor - Wikipedia)

If that quote had been on the test I would have put the answer about double standards, obviously, but it was not and so if that’s the answer then it’s simply a ridiculous question.

was it loyalty oath or was it gerrymandering for the “trying to stop southern African American vote”

@NeRdAtTaCk: The answer was almost definitely loyalty oath. It wasn’t just about keeping them from voting, it was about limiting their representation, which is what gerrymandering aimed to do. Loyalty oaths were used during Reconstruction to re-admit states into the Union.

wasnt there also a question about womens movement.
i think i chose something like teh west was more accomodating to their rights.

also what did u guys put for the question asking about slaves and masters?
choices were like engaging in rebellions, poising master’s livestock, feighing illness and slowing pace of work, etc

@jakesonaplane: If I recall correctly the question was asking about the most significant impact of the expedition, and the answer choice said their path laid the groundwork for future claims of Spanish and British territory, which I believe is true, since it gave the US insight into the rest of the continent.

I said that the West granted suffrage earlier to women and that slaves resisted by slowing the pace of work.

okay those are the answers that i put, but wasnt sure. thankss

I KNEW IT. OIMG OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOGMOGMOGMGOMGOMGOMG!!!

I TOOK US HISTORY ON 2008 OCTOBER. I WAS LIKE hmm, maybe I should try this after AP EXAM. HMMM.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-subject-tests-preparation/575163-october-sat-subject-test-us-history-2.html</a></p>

i knew something was weird. haha…

I still am near certain that the “local governments” answer is wrong and that it was that the Continental Congress was the source of political sovereignty. If they thought local governments held authority and not the Cont. Congress, why would they have gathered in the congress to sign a declaration stating independence?

@gramster, I agree since Lewis and Clark were not the first to explore the West. The Spanish were already in the area and I forgot the name of the British/Canadian explorer but that would lead to tensions in the future.

Example: “54’40 or Fight” - Oregon boundary dispute.

@newaccountt: wait… did they administer the same test?!
