May 2013 Biology SAT 2 test

Wait! Can someone elaborate on the “it moves slowly in the biosphere” because I think I put something with photosynthesis being slow… Not carbon? PLEASE! Ugh I need a 700. :(

Ok guys you know that one about the somatic cell and if the organism have 24 how much do they inherit each from their parents?? Which one was it??

@yjkimnada good luck! decisions come out around june 19th i believe. yeah the E section wasn’t bad except for the society one. I went through the M-section and saw the last 4 problems dealing with bacterial colonies and immediately went to E :)

@Smarty1201 hmm, i dont think it would be photosynthesis is slow since the question stated carbon is mostly found in rocks. but don’t worry. 700 is raw score of 61 which would amount to be 15 wrong. (According to Barron’s AND the 2006 official sat subject test book released by collegeboard)

@richlittlegurl it was 12 chromosomes, because the parental gametes have 1/2 the number of somatic chromosomes.

No wait a second I thought somatic cells were not gametes, so they go trough mitosis, right???

I’m not sure on that “moves slowly in the biosphere” because all I remember was that it’s slow. But I don’t remember the other choices. Do any of you guys remember the choices?

Is missing 2-3 and skipping 1 still an 800??

@richlittlegurl yeah but they were asking about how many chromosomes did the offspring get from EACH parent. so 12 from the mom + 12 from the dad = 24 for the offspring

@smart1201 can’t really remember anything. one of the choices was rock weathering. idr anything else though. sorry :/

Do you guys remember the the question with the chart where there were “-” “+” and they asked which temperature was most effective or something & I think I put 40 degrees?

I think it is that one where is moves slowly through the carbon cycles and stuff and the other ones were implausible answers so there is no point in anaylzing them.

Do you guys remember any choices with “photosynthesis” in it

Yes it is 40

@BasedGod
Am I still legible for an 800??

Do you guys remember a question asking about the light reaction (molecular section) I think I put something with ATP…

Yup you are @richlittlegirl but you’re right on the border. Well, actually it depends. Did you take E or M?

how many questions can you miss and still get a 800

I took M is that a better curve?

Cause curve for 2012 was like 96 is an 800

I’m pretty sure E has a better curve, but not 100% certain on that fact. But if you know you only got 2-3 wrong with one omit, you’re set for an 800 :)

1/4 off for each one you get wrong and one point off for everyone you omit… So hat is about 98-98% then
