MAY 2014 PHYSICS SUBJECT TEST

Does anybody know what the scale might be for this test?

700-800 guesses are sufficient?

For the max current for magnetic flux I put A because it had the largest slope, and I ~ dflux/dt and for the vertical plane mirror I put whatever the guy’s height was, since plane mirrors don’t change the size of an image

Also, its usually you can miss up to 10-11 for an 800 for physics

What did you guys get for the PV diagram and for which one didn’t change the internal energy of the system? I put the one with the steepest curve since that’s adiabatic compression(I think)

I put the curve on the constant temperature curve since no change in temperature means no change in internal energy.

what did you put for the graph question about specific heat and yada yada

curve predictions anyone? i’ve never taken an official practice test so idk how this test compared in terms of difficulty to other tests…

the graph question the first one about the melting point i put that the upper curve had a higher melting point.

for the second graph question about the heat for each i put them as equal because the problem stated that the rate of heat flow is the same for each, and the time for each is the same --> thus rate*time=total heat --> same for both.

the third one that asked about the specific heat i “forgot” to answer rofl…

Does anyone think they have the correct answer for the compass one?

i got that the needle of the compass would be vertical…

the current goes into the page so using right hand rule the magnetic field would be making a clockwise circle
if the compass were east of the current then the magnetic field is pointing downwards, so the compass’s needle would be vertical because the needle aligns with the magnetic field

but my explanation is probably wrong idk

thats what I got too, that it would be vertical

I thought it would vertical as well.

Does anyone know the answer for the gravitation question …
Which point was it ?
A
B
C
D
E

@Sally97: one of them was A, the other was B

was the electrons being taken up from the table question intensity or frequency?

Was the force on the electron in the +y direction
Would the point charge move in the southeast direction

So far I know I have 6 wrong and 1 skipped… If this is the extent of my mistakes is there any likelihood I can get an 800?

@vrantriliquist‌
if u got 6 wrong and 1 skipped that is definitely an 800.

was the electrons coming out of the surface one(i think #24) intensity or frequency?

@RunningForLife‌
Shouldn’t both be A ?

@Sally97: No, since B was inside of planet X, so less mass from planet X(cubic factor) attracted the object.

So for planet Y IT WOULD BE A RIGHT ??
@runningforlife

@Sally97: Yes. Also, what did u put for the electrons coming out of the surface question? did u put intensity, or frequency?
