May be a victim of plagiarism

Ok, so I have a project due this week. I have used a online forum website to get help about the project, where I showed my solution (its on the internet). The website is basically helps other who have a question. So I made a thread over there asking where to begin, and posted 75% of the solution (which I made). Then the next day I see someone asking for the solution for the project. It its same project question that I am doing.

The forum moderator noticed the same IP because it was from college WiFi. So he banned the other account. He thought it was me who made the account, but it wasn’t. So, I chatted with the forum moderator and told me the name of the person who was asking for the solution.

So I went back to my college website and I saw the person’s name in my program, but in a different section. Possible the same professor.

So now if the person copies my solution and I will be a victim. What should I do?

Also the username on that forum has my real name and my handwriting on the picture

Is posting your project question on an online forum requesting assistance a form of academic dishonesty? I don’t see how what you’ve already done is any different than what the other student is doing (asking for help online for a question in the project) – if that is considered cheating, then you’re both at fault.

Oh dam, you have a valid point. I guess I will just do the project in a different method just to be safe
