Thank you very much

Works in your favor if you’re a good student. You’ve defied the odds.

If you can score 670, you can score in the 700s. You’re almost there. Study hard and take it again.

Raise that Spanish score.

Your ACT score is better than your SAT score. A lot better. Except for that pesky science score. That’s bringing everything down. You should be around 34-5 if your science score were on par with the rest. And 34-5 is really good.

Ouch…unless…your schools grade hard and this is actually a good GPA? Where are you ranked?

Leadership position? This is nothing new to admissions.

That’s good: Leadership and commitment.

Okay. No idea what Double Ruby Debater is but I take it it’s good? Any awards? How long have you been doing this?

Leadership? How long have you been doing this? Awards? Varsity?

Again, are you leading this? How long have you been doing this? Once a month? Once a week? How long do you commit to this?

Ok. This tells me nothing.

What have you been the lead in? What kind of theater?

Make sure recommendations are SPECIFIC and DETAILED. So, instead of having the teacher just say, “Oh so and so is a delight to have in class!” Have her say something more, “So and so always reads ahead in class and does research above and beyond what I assign.”

Recap:

You don’t necessarily have any major “hooks”, something that makes you stand out from the crowd (unless you do?). So what you need to do is dominate all activities you’re in to make yourself valuable. Raise that SAT score, or get better at the science portion of the ACT. Colleges want to see leadership, commitment, and accomplishment.

I think you’ll get into a few of these schools just fine: Wake Forest, Bates, GW, Bentley, Villanova, American, and Conn College.

your SAT’s aren’t stellar. your ACT is slighty better so send that. (have you throught about studying science and retaking? you’re obviously smart. you had a 34/35 going otherwise.)
gpa is ok. EC’s are solid. courseload is good. i think w/ a 34, all those schools would be attainable reaches. i don’t know anything about LACs i’ll chance your other ones.
Gtown-reach
Tufts-low reach
Wake Forest-low reach
BC-low reach
Brown-reach
Cornell-low reach/reach
i’d guess you’ll get into maybe two of those and all the lower ones (no offense to those schools)

Definitely send in your ACT instead of your SAT I. Bring up your SAT II – brush up on your espa
