Maybe this is a dumb idea, but...

What if someone comes to you and doesn’t know anything about college? This person only knows that college is the next step after high school.

This person is not stupid or naive (so it’s not like you’re talking to a toddler). This person is totally culturally aware (so this person will understand what “hippie school” means and will understand allusions to ninteenth-century British literature). This person IS, however, GULLIBLE. He/she will believe ANTYHING you say about college.

You are given ONE POST to explain to this person:

What the application process is like- from the basics (what it means to “apply to a school”) to what colleges look for in an applicant, to what this person should do to become a good applicant

An overview of the college experience- for example: what you can learn, what is a major, explanations of certain majors, dorm life, etc.

An overview of the American college spectrum- for example, what schools are best, how to choose a school, certain types/categorizations of schools

Just thought it would be an interesting exercise. Good luck to all.

In one post? Okay: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/

Nice. 10char
