Mc. Donalds here I come?

Ok so I started my applications to like everywhere, and I keep seeing that my chances of getting into ANY school is so low that I shouldn’t even bother to apply. Do I really not have a chance? Here are my stats
Gpa weighted: 4.04
Gpa unweighted:3.8
Sat: a HORRIBLE score of 1480 (2ND TIME AROUND)
Act: to be detirmened

My prefered major: cinematc arts/ film production (I LOVE film ever since I was 5)
I took some honors, but since I went into this program, I couldn’t take honors anymore starting my sophmore year.
I’ve taken french honors/ap for 4 years
Senior year is NOT rigorous, I have two teacher aide classes, because every other class was FULL, and Calculus was only offered during 1st period, which I couldn’t switch.

Ec’s: I’m in a program called the teaching academy
Im doing a internship in a government class.

Reading Buddies
I’m a tutor
Editor? I edit everyone’s work at my school (and I mean EVERYONE, for some reason people think I know what I’m doing)
I babysit and do yardwork
I’m a film and book reviewer
Also in two clubs: destination college and educators for tomorrow

Im applying to: Csu Fullerton
San Diego State
Csu long beach
Csu Monterey Bay
UC Davis
UC San Diego
UCLA
UC Santa Cruz
UC Santa Barbara
USC
Pepperdine
Syracuse
Northwestern
West Virginia
Iowa State
And some others (I get fee waivers, so I use them to my advantage)

So am I REALLY that bad? People tell me I’m not, but I don’t have a really impressive app. The only thing that is going to help me is my bubbly personality.

I think you have really amazing standing. I mean I got a lower SAT score than you and I still got into UCSD and UCI. Although those may not be the schools you are looking into, you probably would get into those. I never had a resume like yours. Keep your head up you got good GPA and a concentration in your interests. thats all colleges really want.

Is that SAT out of 1600 or 2400?

Its out of 2400. Like I said its horrible. Word of advice when teachers says study: you study!

Oh and I forgot I’m ranked 43 out of 519. Thats like the top 12% or something. I’m after all the AP and IB kids, ahead of some of the IB kids thank goodness

It’s really hard to see such great GPAs get low SATs :(.

Pepperdine probably isn’t a good pick for an artistic kid, unless you’re seriously Christian.
Have you run the net price calculators at Iowa State and WVU? I doubt you’d get financial aid there (public universities provide some financial aid to their in state applicants but have no responsibility to out of state universities)

Csu Fullerton = safety (not counting impaction for major)
San Diego State = match
Csu long beach = match (not counting impaction)
UC Davis = match
UC San Diego = reach
UCLA = high reach
UC Santa Cruz = match
UC Santa Barbara = reach
USC = high reach

Cross out the out of state public universities and use those fee waivers for schools you like among those -
Check out Ithaca College, Occidental, Adelphi, Allegheny, Chapman, Clark, DePaul, Muhlenberg, Simon Fraser in Burnaby (Canada), Susquehanna, Wake Forest (a test-optional school).
