McCain denounced the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth

“…McCain denounced the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth…”

“…Nominating McCain is the gesture of a desperate party….”

“…Republicans are so shell-shocked and demoralized by the success of the Bush Derangement Syndrome, they think they can fool the voters by nominating an open-borders, anti-tax cut, anti-free speech, global-warming hysteric, pro-human experimentation “Republican.” Which is to say, a Democrat….”

“…As the expression goes, given a choice between a Democrat and a Democrat, voters will always choose the Democrat. The only question remaining is: Hillary or Obama…”

“…On the litmus test issues of our time……McCain is a liberal….”

“…McCain has called Justice Samuel Alito too conservative….”

“…McCain criticized the federal marriage amendment, saying, it was “antithetical in every way to the core philosophy of Republicans.”

“…wants to shut down Guantanamo….”

And on and on

Good for him. They needed denouncing.

Annie get your gun. M is running and might just win the thing.

Which is why the Dems would be foolish to nominate Hillary.

Who cares what Ann Coulter says.

I never objected to Rush, Hannity, etc. before because they never criticized “my guy”. Now that I’ve heard them spout off about McCain I see how “unamerican” some of their comments & attitudes are.

The sooner they are marginalized, the better - esp. Coulter.

Armed with “new eyes,” you are now seeing the nonsense from these guys that Democrats have seen all along.

Wow, they could almost convince me to be okay with him…if it weren’t for that darn Iraq War stance…

Those comments above (some of whch are completely false) are so inflammatory & divisive. We need to be moving toward unity - within the parties, but most of all within the country. Stuff like the above serves no purpose. It will be interesting to see what happens in the media from here on out…

What’s your plan for Iraq, garland?

Has McCain explained, in the retrospect of now knowing that Iraq had no WMD and had nothing to do with 9/11, why he still thinks invading Iraq was a good thing?

Check his website:

www.johnmccain.com

Sorry, I see nothing on his Issues/Iraq page that addresses this question.

His website conveniently starts after “Mission Accomplished”, the war was over, and the aggressive, hostile occupation was in full swing.

It would be a respectable position to say the War was a mistake, the President lied, there were no WMD, the lie began with Clinton, but now we must do right by the Iraqi people by occupying their country and helping them rebuild for as long as it takes, and paying them war reparations, and especially helping those who have become refugees as a result, resettling many in the U.S., but also maintaining a long-term military presence to protect our status as a world power.

That is not McCain’s position.

My plan was, don’t go. But no one listened to me then, so I guess they won’t now, LOL.

We’re in it now. We have to move forward from here - making as much success of the situation as we can.

Yes, there is a catastrophe to try to clean up, but we have a candidate who says he would invade Iraq again, knowing full well that there were no WMD and that Saddam was not involved in 9/11. Some people might find this position disturbing.

Moving forward starts with convincing the Iraqis of your sincerity, and your understanding. If you can’t explain to them why you are there at all, or what you think about having gone there to begin with, you begin with two strikes against you.

I just wish some dems would get “new eyes” and see the nonsense of Chris Matthews, Keith Olberman (sp?), and Al Franken.
